What's on in February

Typical dates. Many festivals follow lunar calendars, so check this year's dates before you book.

Tết (Lunar New Year) — 2027: about 6 February

Late January or February

Vietnam's biggest holiday. Peach blossom and kumquat trees fill the streets, and people wear new clothes, often red or the áo dài. Avoid all-black or all-white at family homes. Many shops close for about a week, so plan ahead.

Perfume Pagoda pilgrimage

After Tết, through March

A boat ride and hike to cave temples, with huge crowds. Wear modest clothes, comfortable shoes and a light rain jacket.
